Family holiday in the southernmost point of the Netherlands

The southernmost point of the Netherlands

A wonderful stay in the south of Limburg awaits you at Roompot Gulpen. Here, you spend the night at one of southernmost points of the Netherlands. That means you stay only a few kilometres from the German and Belgian borders. You have the chance to stand in three countries at the same time on the Three Country Point in Vaals (16 km). Or you can go on challenging cycling trips through the stunning landscape. The great cities of Maastricht (17 km), Luik (36 km) and Aken (19 km) are also close by. Perfect for a day out!

In the hills of Limburg

Everything is new at this holiday park. You see that straight away as you drive onto the site. The reception is brand-new and modern. Walk inside to register and take a look. The park is built against one of the Limburg hills. Very few cars are permitted. That makes it a perfect holiday destination for families with children of all ages. The park does not have its own pool, but Mosaqua subtropical leisure pool is a few minutes' drive away (2.5 km).

Time for pizza night

Besides the Roompot Gulpen main building, there is a great playground for children. There is also a fabulous programme of activities, so that they will enjoy themselves throughout the holiday. The park has a mini-market, a laundry, a charging station for electric cars, bike hire and e-chopper hire. From The Dill restaurant you have a beautiful view of the hills. The menu changes according to the season as is organic as far as possible. You can also take away dishes and it is pizza night on Fridays!

Modern and new accommodation

Like the rest of the park, the accommodation is modern and new. The accommodation is spread through the landscape. Some are between trees and others against a hill. Many of the hillside and hilltop lodges offer beautiful views of the hills. Various lodges are on ground level but there are also brilliant Tree House accommodations with a roof terrace.

Shopping in Maastricht

Walking and cycling through the Limburg hills is always a good idea. Yet, there is also plenty for families with children to do in the surrounding area. You can even easily travel around the world. How? Visit the World Gardens of Mondo Verde in Landgraaf and Gaia Zoo in Kerkrade. But there is even more fun to be had with the children. In Heerlen, there is the Kinderstad indoor amusement park and the Fairytale Forest in Valkenburg, which is great for kids up to age eight. Valkenburg and Maastricht are lovely for a day of shopping.
